English Settlement of America

Not historically accurate, but fun - watch the opening number to the musical "Something Rotten", which takes place in 1590s England.  They are welcoming you to the Renaissance! (Don't let the blackouts bother you - the picture will come.  Feel free to watch the rest - the first 30 minutes of the show are here).

Throughout the course, I'll be including a lot of Crash Course videos, hosted by John Green.  You might not always agree with his more liberal viewpoint, but you'll most likely learn something!  I would suggest watching these video with CLOSED CAPTIONING ON.  He talks very fast, and it is easy to miss things.  You might have to stop the video and rewatch parts of it to answer the homework questions.
